Worship is the activity of worshiping; it is to love unquestioningly and continually. Worship is the reverent love, devotion accorded to, or honor, homage paid to God, deity, an idol or any object regarded as sacred. Lifestyle is said to be a manner of living that reflects a person’s values and attitude. It could then be said that a lifestyle of worship is a life that depicts regular and continuous love and devotion to something sacred. The question then is what or who do we worship? As Christians, we ought to worship God; this is the reason for our existence. As a matter of fact every human worships one thing or the other. Some worship God, gods, jobs, spouse, relationships, money, assets, power etc. Who or what do you worship? Do you worship wrongly, consciously or unconsciously?
A lifestyle of worship is living every day the notion of pleasing God and fulfilling this notion. Sometimes we limit worship to our church activities, but worship is indeed beyond that. It ought to be our lifestyle. It is beyond singing and praising God in church. Worship is an everyday thing. We worship GOD THROUGH DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES THAT PLEASE Him.
Romans 12:1 says “therefore brothers, by the mercy of God, i urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, this is your spiritual worship”. A lifestyle of worship is living a life of holiness and this is pleasing to God.
Verse 2 says “Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing and perfect will of God”. Living a life of worship is discerning what is good and doing God’s perfect will and this can only be done through the renewal of our minds. A lifestyle of worship is not a day thing, we put in efforts daily and we assess our lives. Virtually everyone knows what is right and wrong, but we just find it hard to do what is right always. Living a lifestyle of worship is knowing what is right and doing it.
When you love someone, you care about the person; you do all you can to please and satisfy the person, you also do your best to make the person happy. Do you do otherwise to God and yet claim by the words of your mouth that you love Him. Only your actions and lifestyle truly tells if you love God and not what you say. If you truly love Him, you would read His word regularly and this would help you live a lifestyle of worship and you will in turn please Him. A lifestyle of worship is a lifestyle of a Christian.
